Product Update: New Tool for Narrow Deckboards

On November 7, 2011, National Nail Corp. added the CAMO Marksman Pro™-NB to its CAMO Hidden Deck
Fastening System product line. The Marksman Pro-NB is designed for narrow deckboards measuring
3-1/4” to 5”.

“Builders told us they needed a CAMO solution for narrow boards and we listened,” said Greg
Groenhout, CAMO Product Manager at National Nail Corp. “The Marksman Pro-NB makes installation of
2” x 4” or 5/4 x 4” treated lumber, cedar or hardwoods a breeze, and is a great addition
to the CAMO family of products.”

The CAMO Marksman Pro-NB debuted last month at the 2011 DeckExpo in Chicago and was well received by show
attendees. This heavy-duty contractor grade tool features clamps to grip the deckboard and provides
automatic 3/16” spacing. Dual screw guides fasten both sides of the board with single tool placement.
The Marksman Pro-NB will be available in retail stores in December.

Tips & Tricks: Installing on a 45° Angle

A 45° angle deck is a great design technique that can give your deck an upscale
look-especially when installed using the CAMO Hidden Deck Fastening System. To install
deckboards at a 45° angle using CAMO, follow these simple steps:

  1. Position your Marksman™ tool over the high side of the edge of the joist rather
than the center (IMG A). This way the fastener will penetrate fully into the joist when
    completely driven.
  2. Mark the deck boards where it intersects with the joist (IMG B).
  3. Position the CAMO tool by centering the screw guide directly over the mark and drive
your CAMO fastener at that point.
  4. Reposition the tool to fasten the opposite side of the deckboard. Continue the process
down the length of the deckboard (IMG C).
